A single center of Tatar History and Culture opens in Moscow

A single Center of Tatar history and culture will be opened in mid-January in Moscow. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Akhmetshin at the last session of the Coordinating Council for the Affairs of Compatriots with the President of Tatarstan in 2016.

He said that, in agreement with the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin transfer of the cinema “Enthusiast” is planned where he the Center will be opened.

“It will give an opportunity to unite our compatriots in a broader format, to create a museum of the history of the Tatar people, a cinema hall, hall for the national cuisine”, – said R. Akhmetshin.

According to his data the concept of the museum will be feveloped. Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan have already appealed to the colleagues from China, Turkey, Finland and the United States

to prepare materials on the history of the Tatar migration for the future museum.

Note that at the capital the Center of Tatar culture in Tatatrske lane has been operating.

According to the 2010 census, the population of about 149 thousand Tatars live in Moscow, representing 1.3% of the population of the city.
