Today, as part of the 34th republican festival “Play, bayan” about a thousand harmonists passed through the streets of Kazan. The flash mob in honor of the City Day and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Tatarstan was also joined by participants of the Tugerek Uen folk festival from different regions of the country.

Bayan players who came to Kazan from the Nizhnekamsk region said that this holiday is a meeting place with other musicians, countrymen. Among the participants in the procession were many women. Bayan players from Buinsk admitted that they had learned to play this instrument because of the desire to keep up with the talented harmonious guys in their village.

People’s Artist of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, singer and musician Fan Valiakhmetov was in the forefront of the procession. According to him, there are still a lot of harmonists among the people, which means that folk traditions are alive.

Harmonists at the monument to Musa Jalil were met by the Tatar State Folk Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan under the direction of Aydar Fayzrakhmanov, who presented his program “Ode to Harmony”.

“We include harmony in every performance, the Tatars expressed all their emotions and experiences through the accordion. Now this instrument  is again becoming prestigious and popular. The people do not forget it, ”said Aidar Fayzrakhmanov, Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan.
