In Chelyabinsk for the first time in five years will celebrate Navruz

Navruz – the traditional holiday of the new year of the Iranian and Turkic peoples – will be celebrated in Chelyabinsk on Saturday, March 24. The organizers of the celebrations will be the regional House of Friendship of Peoples and the regional ministry of culture.

 

The festival will begin at noon at the ChTZ Theater. Artists and creative groups will perform with dances, songs and playing on national musical instruments. Their works will show masters of arts and crafts, artists and even cooks.

 

There will be an exhibition of dishes of national cuisines in ethnic interiors and a competition for the best dish.

 

Representatives of Uzbek, Azerbaijani, Tajik, Tatar, Bashkir, Kazakh and Kyrgyz national-cultural associations will take part in the celebration.

 

As the director of the House of Friendship of Peoples of the Chelyabinsk region Yulia Lapidus told, the previous mass celebration of Navruz in the region took place in 2013. Then the holiday was stopped due to difficulties with financing. It is noteworthy that the resumption of celebrations coincided with the 15th anniversary of the House of Friendship of Peoples.
