In  summer of 2018, Omsk was visited by the host of the program “My love is Russia!” (Kultura channel) and traveler Pierre Christian BROSCHE. Then, at a meeting with the governor of the region, Alexander BURKOV, he noted that the tourism potential of the region was concluded, among other things, in ethno-tourism: “The fact that you have ethnocultures compactly located seems to me the main value. And many in the region are well aware of this: in this vein, work is underway in the national associations of Germans, Kazakhs (in 2017, an ethnotour to the village of Karazyuk, Novovarshavsky district, appeared) and others. The Regional Tatar national-cultural autonomy of the Omsk Region Madaniyat is not far behind in this respect. Its chairman, Radik MINIKHANOV, shared with the “KV” plans of creating an ethnic settlement on the basis of the Tatar village of Ulenkul in the Bolsherechensky district.

This will be an ethnic village inside the village, where it will be possible to see firsthand what the Tatar family is, what was its life in the 18-19 centuries. “We want to show people how other nationalities live,  including the Tatars, because our ethnos is not the same, there are subethnoses  in it – Siberian Tatars, Kazan. They have a slightly different language, they have their own customs and traditions. Since ancient times, the Omsk region was a place of residence for the Tatars, in our region there are very ancient Tatar settlements, which are 600-700 years old, in particular, in the Ust-Ishim and Tevriz districts, ”explained Radik MINIHANOV.
