The 14th Baikal Sabantuy will be held on June 29, 2019 in the village of Bayangol, the Khorinsky District of the Republic of Buryatia, with the support of the Administration of Head of the Republic of Buryatia, Administration of the Khorinsky District and Autonomy of the Tatars of Buryatia.
Sabantuy is an ancient Tatar folk festival held in the spring after sowing works. All original traditions, beautiful customs, songs, rituals, games, national struggle are united in this celebration, organically included in the soul of the people. The holiday is a symbol of beauty and strength, the joy of work and vitality, since ancient times inherent in the Tatar people. Every year the Maidan Sabantui is growing, the holiday becomes a long-awaited and joyful event in many regions and countries of the world.
Delegations from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Irkutsk Region, Zaigraevsky, Selenginsky, Mukhorshibirsky, Kyakhtinsky, Kurumkansky districts of Buryatia, mountains are expected to arrive on the holiday. Ulan-Ude, Association of Peoples of Buryatia “House of Friendship”.
At Sabantui, you can taste Tatar national dishes, see the national Tatar wrestling “kuresh”, and take part in popular games and fun. Each delegation of districts and settlements of the Khorinsky District will prepare its presentation, dishes of the Tatar cuisine and a sports team for sports: lifting weights, tug-of-war, national wrestling “kuresh”, arm wrestling. In the Tatar wrestling, the strongest Saban batyr will win the belt kuresh, who to receive the main prize – a live Bayangol ram.
A variety of folk games (get skullcaps from a vertical pillar, running in bags, running with a yoke with filled buckets, smashing pots, fighting bags with straw on a horizontal log, running with an egg in a spoon, searching for coins in yogurt) will not leave indifferent either children or adults.
Contests in national nominations will traditionally be held at Sabantuy: Tamley Ashlar (presentation of national cuisine); Uzanchelekle koi (indigenous village); Hezmat iyase (village workers); Cube balala gail (large family). An authoritative jury will select Tatar huzhabikә (Tatar hostess); APIPA Sabantui (the best dance group); Tatar malai (Tatar boy); Tatar kyzy (Tatar girla), Aksakal Sabantui (the elder) and Khanum Sabantui (respected madam, woman).
The main philanthropist Akrambay of Sabantuy, the most generous owner, noble, wealthy, influential person very respectful by others, will be chosen nationwide.
The highlight of the holiday will be the holding of a mass dance ethnofleshmob # BezbiyibezApypa #MyantantsuemApipa and a defile of Tatar beauties of the regional stage of the international competition “Tatar Kyzy”.
