History of the Tatar Moscow was told in the capital of Russia

Last weekend, in Moscow, in the library named after N.Nekrasov, a literary and musical soiree titled “Over white stone Moscow a gold crescent floats” dedicated to the history and culture of the Tatars in the capital took place. The event was dated to the 100th anniversary of the House of Shamsi Asadullayev.

It is symbolic that the soiree was just within the walls of the Nakrasov’s library. In the department of national literatures of the library, in 60s and early 80s Tatar cultural events were held with the Kazan writers and concerts organized by community activists Jakub Chanyshev and Anas Galikeev.

There were writers Gumer Bashir and Eniki and literary critic and translator Galia Khantemirova . Many years Nekrasovskaya library was a cultural home for the Moscow Tatars.

Among the guests of this evening, there were historians and publicists, readers of the library and community activists. Songs by Tatar music classics S.Saidash and R. Yakhin, D. Fayzi, were performed by Honored Artist of Russia and Tatarstan Naila Fatekhova and GITIS student Timur Klein.

Of particular interest was a report made by the historian, researcher of last Tatar community in Moscow, candidate of pedagogical sciences Marat Safarov.

He devoted his story to the events and personalities of late XIX-early XX centuries, House of Asadullayev Shamsi , built in 1914 in Trans Moscow, and having become a Center of cultural and spiritual life of the Moscow Tatars.

Over the years, Marat Safarov happened well to know Rauza Kastrova (1911-2012) – a memoirist , and expert witness of the important events in the history of the Tatar people. It is just based on analysis of her memoirs, it was told about the merchant dynasties, historically associated with Kasimovo town of Ryazan province that played a large role in the history of the Moscow Tatars: Kastrovs , Erzins, Burnashevs, Shirinskikhs, Vergazovs.

A special place in the report was given to the House of Asadullayev of 20 -40- ies, activities of Sarah Shakulova, Gaziz Aidarsky, Sara Sadikova and literary circle led by Musa Jalil.
