In the Republic of Dagestan in March 2016, the Community of Tatars of the Republic of Dagestan “Tugan Tel” has been  formed and is functioning.

According to the latest population census in 2012, the number of Tatars in Dagestan is about 3 thousand people. However, according to our information, the Tatars in Dagestan remained about  2.5 thousand. In 2000, “purely Tatar weddings” were held more often than now. Interethnic marriages have become more frequent, since more than 60 nationalities and 102 nationalities live in Dagestan.
