According to the monument to Syuyumbike, there is no concrete solution yet. The work by  the sculptor Kamil Mullachev is there, but there are questions about the installation of this monument, Tatarstan Culture Minister Irada Ayupova told at a traditional meeting with journalists.

“Kamil Mullashev has a very interesting work, we discussed it at  meeting of the Ministry of Culture. But there are issues  about the installation of this monument. This should be a harmonious integration into the environment, ”she added and noted that it’s impossible to install it on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, as the sculptor wishes. “Kazan Kremlin is a UNESCO site and a cultural heritage site of federal significance. We cannot simply change the territory, ”she noted.

At the same time, the Minister of Culture stressed that there are no female monuments in Kazan at all and this is wrong. “We have a long-running issue  on the monument to Sarah Sadykova. This topic has been in the community for a long time. We are considering one of the new accommodation options, there is understanding with the city. Now the issue of the future location for the monument to the Tatar composer, actress and singer is being legally resolved, ”the minister said.

“But Suyumbike is, of course, beautiful. But there are a lot of positions, for example, why visualize a legend? Everyone has their own Suyumbike, ”she wondered.

“The decision will be made: either we will make it or not,” she summed up.

A sketch of the monument to Queen Syuyumbike, which they want to install in Kazan by 2020, was prepared by a sculptor from Kazakhstan, Mullashev. In his opinion, the monument can be installed either on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, or opposite the circus.
