Kazan hosts seminar meeting with heads of the Tatar print media of the Russian regions

Kazan hosts a seminar meeting with the heads of the Tatar print media regions of the Russian Federation devoted to summarizing the work in 2013 and conclusion of contracts for production of “Atna vakyygalary ” in 2014. The event was held in a briefing room of the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications.

Since January 2014, the newspaper ” Atna vakyygalary ” (“Events of the week”), distributed as insert in 20 Tatar- Russian editions of 15 subjects will be called ” Bez – berge”(“We – together” ).

A seminar-workshop was held in Tatar language. It was opened by head of the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications Irek Minnahmetov. He thanked all the participants for taking part in the seminar and expressed his gratitude to President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who supports the publication of Tatar-speaking newspapers distributed in the republic and abroad. The speaker noted that there were proposals for the newspaper ” Atna vakyygalary ” to come out weekly, but it would be difficult from a financial perspective.” It is a deep problem, and there is a financial issue , but we’ll hope for the best ,” – he said, adding that the newspaper can be read electronically.

General Director of JSC “Tatmedia” Farid Shagiakhmetov said that number of publications distributing “Atna vakyygalary ” increases every year. From January next year, the insert will appear in a popular newspaper “Kyzyl Tan”(Bashkortostan). Today, circulation of the newspaper ” Atna vakyygalary ” is 90 thousand 250 pieces. It is expected that next year it will increase to 100 thousand copies.

Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Tatar Congress Rinat Zakirov expressed gratitude for the efforts made by Tatar publications in the Russian regions to preserve and strengthen position of the native language. He noted the need to work together in this direction.
