Nowruz holiday in Tashkent held

March 21 a festive concert dedicated to the spring holiday “Nowruz” attended by representatives of many cultural centers was held at the Babur park. Director – Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan Nasir Atabaev, choreographer and ballet-master – People’s Artist V. Akilova joined the event.

The songs sounded in Uzbek, Russian, Turkmen, Tatar, Armenian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz and other languages. The audience warmly received performances by Azeri, Jewish, Bashkir, Georgian, Crimean Tatar dancers and their applause supported them.

Tatar culture of Uzbekistan has been introduced by a winner of the national festival “Uzbekistan – our common home” Tatar-Bashkir folk ensemble “Duslyk” under the direction of Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Dame companion of the Order “Dustlik” Raisa Baymurzina. They came up with vocal and choreographic composition “Spring Melodies”.

TOKPC of Tashkent organized an exhibition of folk art. The concert ended with a hymn to the national cultural centers

“Uzbekistan – our common home”, performed by all the participants of the concert.

The event was a success, a big preparatory work has been done. Many people have come to this day to the park named after Babur, among them – young people, children and their parents and grandparents, who came specially to watch and listen to a concert. Loud music, beautiful costumes, overflowing creative energy of artists – all this attracted the viewers. The park had several venues, where performances were held, but the main one was a summer stage. Many cultural centers have prepared the exhibition for sale of crafts.
