In the central part of the  Rumyantsev and Paskevich palace, the exhibition “Multicolor Tatar national culture” has opened. The East  always beckoned with its wisdom and inconceivable mystery, subtlety and a special philosophy of life.

On the right bank of the Kama River stands Yelabuga – the most beautiful pearl of the Tatar land, which has a thousand-year history. Many famous people of the past spent years in this beautiful city, where the East and West become one and the whole, and the culture is very bright and subtle. And therefore, to get closer to this amazing land, everyone is invited to the exhibition of the Elabuga State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve.

The exposition in Gomel opens within the framework of the Days of Culture of Tatarstan. On the second floor in two halls of the palace  two hundred unique exhibits are located. Attention to the guests are the items that tell about the life and traditions of the Tatar people. Among them there are an unusual beauty embroidered fabrics, shoes decorated with intricate patterns, several examples of traditional Tatar costumes, headdresses, exquisite female jewelry, household items and interior, samples of calligraphic art, symbols of the Muslim religious cult, many paintings and much more.

Of course, there is something to see and what to be surprised even by the most experienced spectator. The main place at the exhibition is, perhaps, the Tatar national costume, the elements of which can be considered indefinitely. Bright colors, ornate ornament, harmonious forms and quality of fabric – all this is simply breathtaking and gives a lot of discoveries.

For example, izyu – an element of a female costume in the form of a bandage, decorated with ribbons, pendants and braid, and also a lot of pockets, where Tatars hid the most precious and precious to the woman’s heart – suras from the Koran and jewelry.

The exposition introduces a dozen original women’s faces worn by women of different social status. Particularly important for the leadership and employees of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble and the fact that part of the works of modern Tatar artists was donated for permanent exhibitions within the walls of the palace. There are more than 60 works, selected on the basis of international competitions and plenor.
