Tatar holiday Sabantui held in London

Tatar holiday Sabantuy was held at the capital of the UK, in the oldest University of London UCL.

In the year of Culture of the Russian Federation in the UK, in the heart of London, Tatar folk festival Sabantui passed with success.

It began with a Sabantui flag hoisting by RT Minister of Youth and Sports Rafis Burganov and Chairman of the Association of the United Kingdom of Tatars Ramil Minullin.

In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Great Britain Alexander Yakovenko marked the importance of cultural relations through the promotion of Russian ethnic culture. One of these activities is the bright pearl of the Tatar people – Sabantui festival.

Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov read out the congratulation from the President of

Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on Sabantui holyday to Tatars abroad. “Today Sabantui is widely celebrated around the world. This year it will be held in 56 regions of Russia and 24 foreign countries. And everywhere holiday is a linking thread with many Tatar tribesmen and general historical homeland. ”

To support British Tatars arrived dignitaries: President of the Association of culture of Italy Tatars Zugra Mazhitova, Regional Vice Chairman of the Tatar national-cultural autonomy of the Moscow Region artist Rinat Kuramshin, executive director of the Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan Rinat Abdulkhalikov, executive director of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan on belts Khabir Khabibullin, who later held refereeing of tournament of traditional wrestling “Tatarcha kuryash”, Finat Gazizov from Latvia. Rinat Abdulkhalikov read out the congratulation of the President of the Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan Grif Khairullin to participants of London Sabantui. “Holiday Sabantui confidently has beoame one of the cultural factors combining not only the Volga and the Turkic peoples, but also all who are close to the Russian and Eurasian identity” – was said in a greeting.

Next, a concert took place, featuring a charming group of Kazan “Zu-Lyay-La,” Liliana Gazizova from Riga. Spectators of the holiday participated with joy in the national games,

wrestling, incendiary dances. Victor of wrestling Tatarcha kuryash became an absolute champion Arslan Zalyalov.

Organizers treated all with a delicious pilaf paramach, chak-chak.

Organizer Sabantui in London was the Association of the United Kingdom Tatars.
