The Center for Tatar Culture MIRAS from Montreal, Canada, takes part in the festival of cultures of Canadian cultural communities and diasporas, which will be held in Montreal on August 11th. MIRAS will represent two Russian regions – Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. The MIRAS Center is a young and dynamic organization, which would be very useful for the help of native regions.

Participants of the concert from the Center MIRAS will perform in wonderful national clothes, but for participation in the parade Nuestroamericana-2018 the center lacks suits.

We appeal to cultural collectives and institutions with a request to share Bashkir and Tatar costumes or costume elements so that more participants from our two cultures can pass through the parade.

The Nuestroamericana friendship parade, which takes place in Montreal for the 8th time in early August, is a fraternity festival that brings together the indigenous peoples of America and the ethnic communities of other regions of the world. This event is inspired by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, it emphasizes the importance of indigenous cultures of America and recognizes the rich contribution of immigrant communities to Montreal’s cultural mosaic.

A colorful procession with the participation of hundreds of dancers and musicians is followed by a bright show at the main festival square of the city. This event is crowned with the collective dance of the ensemble of indigenous peoples and all participating groups.

The Nuestroamericana festival is a platform for intercultural exchanges and an event that promotes mutual understanding between the residents of Montreal. The parade takes place in an atmosphere of peace and joy and is open to the participation of all the diasporas of Canada with the common goal of preserving cultural values and protecting Mother Earth for the benefit of future generations.

This year, for the first time on the streets of Montreal, participants in our national costumes will carry flags of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan!

And afterwards there will be a concert where representatives of different countries will speak and sing in a variety of languages, there will be a sea of music, and among all this splendor – Tatar and Bashkir melodies in the city center on the Festival Square! We invite everyone to the festival on August 11, according to the Center for Tatar Culture

MIRAS from Montreal.
