The evening of Tatar culture in Karelia

National library of the Republic of Karelia jointly with the Karelian regional public organization ” Society of Tatar culture “Chulpan” held the evening of Tatar culture, dedicated to the International day of tolerance.

The festive event was attended by Minister of Karelia for national politics, relations with public and religious associations and mass media Andrei Manin, Chairman of the Karelian regional public organization “Societ of Vainakh culture” Mekhmet Matiev, leaders and representatives of other nations.

During the evening guests could enjoy the beautiful Tatar songs by the music of famous composers performed by soloists of the Musical theatre of the Republic of Karelia Alvina Mullana and Rinat Chuguyev.

Head of organization ” Society of Tatar culture” “Chulpan” Farida Fadeeva, the guests acquainted with the events in the life of the organization, and told about planned projects for the next year.

Bright page of the evening was the presentation of the Tatar national costume performed Svetlana Kharina , specialist of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Elena Sapegina, who acted not only as a model, but in her

professional roles, the actress of author’s non-state theatre “AdLiberum”. Elena read out poems by the classic of Tatar literature Gabdulla Tukai.

The program for the evening included a screening of a film about the “Third capital of Russia. Kazan leaving”. The guests could enjoy an exhibition of books presented to the library during the Days of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Karelia.

In the end, the Minister of Karelia Andrei Manin noted how important in multinational republic to familiarize citizens with the culture of the people living nearby. “It promotes culture of peace and harmonization of interethnic relations”.
