Vasil Shaikhraziyev will meet with the Tatar community of Switzerland

Today, March 21, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Tatar Congress Vasil Shaikhraziyev will make a working visit to Switzerland. As part of the trip, a meeting will be held with the Tatar community. The event will be attended by representatives of the Tatar community, who in different years moved to Switzerland and now work in different sectors – all in all  20 people. Also, in the meeting  first deputy head of the World Congress of Tatars Danis Shakirov participates.

 

Within the framework of the meeting, members of the association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland will talk about their activities and implemented projects. And also raise issues of preserving the Tatar language in the world.

 

Currently, about 150 Tatars live in Geneva (Switzerland). Almost all of them are representatives of a new wave of emigration.

 

In December 2015, nine activists from Tatarstan and Bashkortostan organized the non-profit association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland “Yuldash”. Chief  of the Association is Shchegoleva Regina Nikolaevna.

 

In 2016 and 2017 the Association held a national holiday “Sabantuy”. In 2016, the holiday was held without any support and budget. In 2017, the first sponsor appeared. The official trade and industrial representative of Tatarstan in Switzerland Guzel Salikhova joined the Association and supported the project. Also, the Tourist Information Center of the city of Kazan, the Tourism Development Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars have  rendered great assistance. As a result, in 2016, Sabantui gathered more than 300 participants, and in 2017 – 400.

 

In April, 2017 the Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland “Yuldash” was accepted into the international association of Tatars of the European Union “Alliance of Tatars of Europe”. Currently, Regina Shchegoleva    head of Association is launching the website of the Alliance of Tatars of Europe.

 

In 2018 the Association “Yuldash” plans to hold a number of events, including a master class on Tatar cooking, a literary evening dedicated to Ravil Bukharaev, a concert by pianist Rinat Kuramshin, an exhibition of artist Irik Musin and June 17 this year. a national holiday Sabantui, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Rudolf Nuriyev. This year, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Switzerland expressed readiness to support Sabantui.

 

Thus, the goal of this organization is the preservation of the identity of the Tatar people, the development of culture, traditions, customs, holding various cultural events with  participation of representatives of the Tatar Diaspora, as well as acquaintance of Swiss citizens with the history, customs and traditions of the Tatar people.
