West + East. Artists of Tatarstan in Moscow

From March 20 to April 13 at Moscow House of Nationalities, within the framework of GBU project “MDN” “National holidays”, an exhibition of artists from the Republic of Tatarstan “Enicheskoe space. West + East ” is to be held.

The exhibition “West + East. Artists of Tatarstan ” introduces the works of two famous Kazan artists Irik Musin and Alfrid Shaimardanov. The works will be presented in three halls of the House of Nationalities. Artists of Tatarstan demonstrate their own view of the world in which East and West are naturally intertwined. European painting tradition is enriched by color art of the eastern lands, where they Turkic peoples lived and live. The art of Tatarstaners fully reflected a meditative state, and contemplation, as well as the dynamics and the instrumentality of contemporary art.

Alfrid Shaimardanov – representative of naive art. In his work, in symbolic form he reflects the realities of the surrounding world. Inclusiveness and global themes appear in a special decoration, openness of color. In his works, the world is always full of detail, narrative, stretching space. Artist – participant of

the World Exhibition of Naive Art in Bratislava (Slovakia). As part of the transfer of Kazan certificate of membership in the Organization of World Heritage Cities as a gift the painting “Potatoes. Sort of “Michael” was passed to UNESCO Deputy Director General M. Bushenaki. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Tatarstan. A.M.Shaymardanova work are in the Museum of Naïve Art (Moscow), the Museum of Organic Culture (Kolomna), the National Cultural Center “Kazan”, the Museum of Naive Art of E.Royzman (Ekaterinburg), private collections in Russia and abroad.

Irik Musin – representative of the realist movement in painting, looking for answers to his questions in metaphysics of reality. Genre painting and landscape in his work – it is always an intense spiritual search in eternal themes: childhood and old age, love and pain, loss and gain. In 2014 the artist was awarded the prize named after N.I. Feshin in the sphere of contemporary fine art from the Russian Academy of Arts. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Tatarstan, a member of the International Association of Art – AIAP UNESCO. I.Musin’s works are in the Museum of Fine Arts in Tyumen, private collections in Russia and abroad.
