A solemn event timed to the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan was held in St. Petersburg

A solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan and the forthcoming 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Tatar SSR held by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region took place in the city of St. Petersburg.

Participation in the event was attended by deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Government of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, heads of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, heads of representative offices of the subjects of the Russian Federation, business leaders and business community of the region, Tatar community of the city and region, leaders of Tatar national-cultural organizations and activists of youth associations.

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region Renat Valiullin made a welcoming speech and rewarded the activists with State awards of the Republic of Tatarstan: Thanksgiving letter from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Letters of thanks and Certificates of honor from  the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Executive Committee of the World Tatar Congress and Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan .

Within the framework of the event, the presentation of new editions by the Institute of History named after Sh. Marjani of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan took place, with the participation of the Institute’s management and prominent historians. The seven-volume “History of Tatars from Ancient Times” and a collective monograph “The Golden Horde in World History” were presented.

Also,  the work  “Lancers. Valiant sons of the Great Steppe “from the series” Tatars in the Service of the Fatherland “, author Sh. K. Akhmetshin and the book” Muslim Petersburg. Historical guide: The life of Muslims in the city on the Neva and in its environs »by the authors of R.I. Bekkin and A.N. Tagirzhanova  have been presented.

After the presentation, the cultural part of the event was held – a concert program with the participation of Allyuki  string ring quartet, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of Russia Hanafi Chinakaev, a laureate of All-Russian and international competitions and festivals Albert Jalilov and special guest, young talented girl   Aylina Khabibullina.
