January 15, 2016, at 13:00, G. Tukai Literary Museum invites to the evening-meeting “New Age”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the first issue of the literary, scientific- social magazine “Al-Ghasr al-Jadid” (“New Age”).
Gabdulla Tukai is not only a famous Tatar poet, but he is one of those who stood at the origins of the Tatar periodicals. The first Tatar newspaper “Nur” (“Ray”) begins to be published in early September 1905 in St. Petersburg. After a month the second newspaper in the Tatar language – “Kazan mekhbire” (“Kazan News”) starts to come out in Kazan. In publication of the G. Tukai is not involved. A third Tatar newspaper was issued November 26, 1905, in the city of Uralsk by nineteen year old G.Tukay and his teacher, co-thinker Kamil Mutygi. They did not stop on newspaper – and a half months on January 15, 1906, they released the first issue
of the first literary-scientific and social monthly magazine in the Tatar language – “Al-Ghasr Al-Jadida” (“New Age”). K.Mutygi – its publisher and editor, and Tukai – executive secretary. The first issue published two poems by G.Tukai. After 5.5 months in Russia a first satirical illustrated magazine in the Tatar language “Uklar” (“Arrow”) appeared. Official publisher and editor – K.Mutygi, but in fact the magazine “is done ” by only G.Tukai. Namelym It is just in Uralsk he has become a famous poet, and formed as a journalist and editor. The event is held in the format of the evening meetings, and consists of three parts: a tour of the hall “G.Tukai Uralsk”, meeting with representatives of Tatarstan mass media and business game on creating the project of the new magazine about the culture of Tatarstan for schoolchildren.
