Famous scientist and museum expert of Bukhara Robert Almeev turns 70

October 6 is the 70th anniversary of the bright representative of the Tatar-Bashkir Diaspora,  director of the research center “The Legacy of Bukhara”, the famous museum expert,  doctor of historical sciences Robert Almeev. He made a significant contribution to the development of museum business, folk crafts, the study of historical heritage and  restoration of unique architectural monuments of Bukhara.

Robert Almeev is well known and respected in Bukhara and far beyond its borders as an authoritative scholar in the history, culture of Bukhara and Central Asia, a talented leader, an energetic, responsible and motivated person.

Robert Valievich Almeev was born in Bukhara in 1947 in the family of an employee. By nationality Tatar. In 1970 he graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute. From the student years he actively participated in public life, worked in the youth organizations of Bukhara,  regional department of culture,  freelance correspondent of the newspapers “Bukhoro hakikati” and “Bukhara Izvestia”.

However, he found his true vocation in  study of history and museum business. From 1985 to 2011, Robert Almeyev worked as  Director General of the Bukhara State Architectural and Art Museum of the Reserve, turning it into one of the largest and most famous museums in Uzbekistan. In this position he showed himself to be a real professional, organizer, scientist-researcher and public figure.

Robert Almeyev is a man of an active life position. He continues today fruitful scientific and social activities.
