The Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation held a presentation of the book by Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the European part of Russia, a lead researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies Farid Asadullin “Multinational world of Moscow.”
The book has been published by the World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations”, in which the leaders of the Muslim community of the country took an active part. Support by the organization in publishing the book by F.Asadullin – an indicator of respect for the culture and way of life of the peoples of multinational Russia.
We note that recently in the walls of the Plenipotentiary Representation several presentations of works by our countrymen: books by Fatikh Sibagatullin, “Historical genealogy of the Tatar people”, by Adil Belyaev “Fyodor Shaliapin, from Kazan to Stockholm”, by Nikolai Gorbunov (the book was published with the support of the RT
Representation in the Russian Federation ) and other publications have been held. In the near future a presentation of the new book by diplomat Yulduz Khaliullin is to take place.
At the beginning of the meeting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Akhmetshin came out with welcoming remarks, wished the participants a successful and fruitful work.
The presentation was attended by the executive director of the World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” Vladimir Kulikov, academician of RANS Edward Kulpin-Gubaidullin, professor Alfina Sibgatullina, MSU professor Idzhat Sabitov, RANS Ildar Utyamysh, corresponding member of the International Academy of Eurasia Yulduz Khaliullina, professor Haris Farisov, historian Marat Safarov and many others.
The book “The multinational world of Moscow, from the city to a metropolis,” speaks about the role played by the Muslim community of Moscow in the development of the Russian capital from the early centuries of its existence until today, when Moscow is considered one of the major world capitals. The meeting marked that the author has collected and systematized a huge material and no doubt would work in the historiography of Russian Islam.
Based on rich Russian culture – a fruitful interaction for centuries between various confessions, familiarity with the book will be useful and interesting to the followers of different faiths.
We remind that a few years ago in Moscow the book by Farid Asadullin ” Muslim Moscow was published that had made a significant contribution to the treasury of the Russian Muslim thought. In his work, F.A. Asadullin says about those who were the first Muslims in Moscow, when the city had the first mosque and why “Moscow owes its greatness to the khans.” The monograph by F.A. Asadullin was honored the award by Russian Academy of Sciences named after S.F. Oldenburg in Oriental Studies.
