Tatar murzas of Bashkiria have initiated construction of the monument to the famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai.

Chairman of the Mejlis of the Republic of Tatar murzas Maxat Mamleev said that already n initiative group had been formed that is willing to deal with this issue. Noble Assembly has drafted a monument, and offered a preliminary place for its erection in Ufa – Tukai street, there is no monument to Gabdulla Tukai in Bashortostan. So we want to perpetuate the memory of the writer in Ufa. We hope that by 2015 we would resolve this issue – Maxat Mamleev said.
