The Institute for Development and Support of Native Languages will be created in Russia

The opening of a new departmental institution was announced by Deputy Minister of Education Tatyana Sinyugina. This is reported by the press service of the Federal Agency for Nationalities.
The creation of a new institute was announced during the work of the forum-dialogue “Language Policy: All-Russian Expertise”.
In her report, Tatiana Sinyugina told about the main areas of work of the Foundation for the Preservation and Development of the Native Languages of the Peoples of Russia (the Foundation was established by the President of the Russian Federation in October). Among them: the organization of groups of authors, creating textbooks in their native languages and the training of teachers – teachers of native languages.
Also, within the framework of the Foundation’s work, an Institute for the Development and Support of Native Languages will be created. It will begin its work on January 1, 2019.
The Deputy Minister of Education reported, among other things, about the upcoming inclusion in the federal list of more than 120 textbooks in 12 languages.
