On December 12, 2018, the Omsk Regional Contest of Young Readers of the Holy Quran was held at the  D.I. Sibiryak, which gathered many. The participants came from different villages  and districts of the whole Oblast. The respected jury, which included alumni of Al-Azhar University and Muhammadiy’s madrassa, strictly evaluated the young participants. Participants recited surahs of the Koran, surprised by the beauty of their children’s reading. Islamic poems sounded on the stage, munadjats and nashidy performed by the People’s Tatar-Bashkir folklore ensemble “Umyrzaya” and other cultural centers.

Summing up, determining the winners was not easy at all. In the older age group (children 10 to 13 years): 1st place – Kuandykova Fatyma; 2 place – Kuandykov Hamid; 3rd place – Arslan Mustafa. In the younger age group (children up to 9 years old): 1st place – Kardanova Zalina; 2 place – Arslan Maryam; 3rd place – Lokhtina Karina.

The children were awarded certificates for participation and gifts, and each winner of the competition was presented with valuable prizes and cash incentives. We sincerely thank all the mosques of the city of Omsk, cultural centers and the newspaper Tatar donyas for their help in organizing the event.
