On March 4, 2018, after taking up the All-Russian Relay, the Yaktashlar (Tatar-Bashkir Cultural Center, Rostov-on-Don), with the support of the Don State Public Library, held a grand celebration of the performers of the poetic word “Jalilov’s  Readings” dedicated to life and the work of the great Tatar poet, patriot, Hero of the Soviet Union-Musa Jalil. The holiday consisted of three parts: literary (reading poetry in Russian and Tatar languages), watching a film about the poet’s life; a festive concert in which the Don performers and sincere communication at the tea table took part. To the joy of the organizers on the holiday came not only the Tatars, there were representatives of other nationalities. The welcoming speech was delivered by  Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Issues, Religion and Cossacks of the city of Rostov-on-Don Yu. V. Akinin, representative of the DGPB M.E. Moon and guests of the holiday. Creative evening was visited by many young people, representatives of the older generation and children. Many of them read  out  poems of the great poet, performed songs, and guests just enjoyed the festive event. The geography of the speakers, who showed interest and love for Jalil’s work, covered practically the entire Rostov region. The residents of the cities of Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Morozovsk, Aksai, and residents of the Azov, Oblivsky, Salsky and other districts of the oblast took part. Interest of different people by age, nationality says that Musa Jalil was an international poet, and was able to write for all people. The Yaktashlar ROOO  will continue to support creativity, love for their origins, culture and traditions in the future.
