A graduation ceremony was held at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University. The coveted diplomas were received by 230 bachelor’s and master’s degree graduates. Twenty-five of them completed a media lab at Tatarstan New Century (TNV) as part of their studies.

The students were taught by renowned journalists, practicing camera operators, and producers. The project received support from the Commission on Native Languages under the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan. Many students have already immersed themselves in the world of Tatar journalism.

“It was my unfinished business,” shares the newly minted 56-year-old master’s graduate in Turkology, Canadian citizen Nikolay Zaruev. He defended his thesis on the development of artificial intelligence for learning the Tatar language.

“I have been living in Canada for 24 years now. And soon I will have grandchildren. I really want to organize language nests for my grandchildren in the Tatar language, following the example of advanced methods used in New Zealand and Finland. I really wanted to learn the language, and now finally such an opportunity arose! I started learning Tatar at the online school ‘Ana Tele’ (Native Language), organized by teachers from this university,” said the graduate of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of KFU (Canada), Nikolay Zaruev.

Diplomas were awarded to 230 graduates. They received their cherished documents from the hands of their beloved director, Radif Zamaletdinov.
