“Starting this September, we are launching our beloved project — ‘Cultural Capital of the Republic of Tatarstan’. Every municipality will once again get a unique opportunity to showcase its creative potential, rich cultural heritage, national traditions, and modern achievements,” said First Deputy Minister of Culture Yulia Adgamova at the recent board meeting of the ministry.

In 2025, 35 municipal districts took part in the competition. The total number of participants exceeded 20,000 people, including over 500 entrepreneurs and 608 creative groups. Online broadcasts of the events garnered more than 1 million viewers. The Cultural Capital of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2025 was the Atninsky Municipal District.
