As part of a working visit to Tomsk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, Vasil Shaykhraziev, conducted an inspection of the site for the upcoming XXVII Federal Sabantuy. The main national holiday of the Tatar people will take place in the capital of Tomsk Oblast in the summer of 2027. This year, the city’s leadership will take over the baton from Omsk. In 2028, the XXVIII Federal Sabantuy will be held in the capital of Udmurtia — in Izhevsk.

This afternoon, the Tatarstan delegation inspected the area of the so-called Governor’s Quarter, where the main festive celebrations will unfold. The location was chosen for its transport accessibility and its capacity to accommodate tens of thousands of spectators for traditional festivities, national wrestling competitions (koresh), horse races, and a craftsmen’s fair.

Immediately after inspecting the construction site, the delegation led by Vasil Shaykhraziev proceeded to the Regional Philharmonic Hall. There, a working meeting was held with the management of the cultural institution. The main topic of the talks was the preparation of a large concert featuring artists from Tatarstan, which will serve as the culmination of the cultural program of the federal holiday. The parties discussed the technical capabilities of the stage, logistics, and the formation of the repertoire.

This evening, an expanded meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the holiday will take place, during which the final budgets and a detailed plan will be approved.
