Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, Vasil Shaykhraziev, will pay a working visit to Omsk Oblast.
An official meeting with the Governor of Omsk Oblast, Vitaly Khotsenko, is planned there. Also scheduled is an inspection of the venue for the XXVI Federal Sabantuy in the city of Omsk, a review of the progress of preparations, and a meeting of the organizing committee for the national holiday. An inspection of the site for the installation of a bust to Hero of the Soviet Union and poet Musa Jalil is also planned. As part of the visit, Vasil Shaykhraziev will also take part in the XXVI Federal Sabantuy.
For reference: On July 17 and 18, 2026, Omsk will host the Federal Sabantuy. This year, the national holiday of the Tatars and Bashkirs will be celebrated with a large festival for the 26th time. It will bring together participants from more than 30 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and three regions of Kazakhstan.
The largest delegation will be from Tatarstan – more than 500 people will arrive in Omsk. It will be headed by the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The lineup includes: horse races, performances by artists from Tatarstan and Omsk Oblast, a gala concert, a tournament in the national wrestling style “Koresh,” craft fairs, and master classes. On the same day, the symbol of the Federal Sabantuy – the winged horse Tulpar – will be handed over to Tomsk. The next holiday will take place on Tomsk soil.
In the park of culture and recreation “Zelyony Ostrov,” a “City of Masters” will be set up for guests: visitors will be able to watch leatherworkers, blacksmiths, and woodcarvers at work, purchase unique items and national clothing, and learn the basics of making echpochmak and chak-chak. In addition, all-Russian competitions in tug-of-war, pole climbing, running with a yoke, and log fighting are planned.
The unveiling of a bust-monument to Hero of the Soviet Union and renowned poet Musa Jalil is scheduled in Victory Park. The event is timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of his birth.
