On July 2, the national Tatar-Bashkir holiday Sabantuy will be celebrated in the Forest Fairy Tale park in Barnaul. This was reported to the mayor’s office.
The celebration will start at 11:00.
Sabantuy will be held in Barnaul for the 26th time and will be dedicated to the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia and the 85th anniversary of the Altai Territory.
“The program includes performances by creative teams from cities and regions of the Altai Territory, Siberia and the Republic of Tatarstan, folk games, competitions for the whole family, competitions, an exhibition of souvenirs from Altai masters. Young Tatars and Bashkirs will be able to compete in the Miss Sabantuy contest. The climax of Sabantuy will be the struggle of batyrs (heroes) – koresh,” the message says.
