The acceptance of applications for the Contest of Tatar masters of artistic word “Tatar Suze”- 2024

The 4th International Television Contest of Artistic Word “Tatar Suze”, the year’s premier national event, is approaching. This momentous jubilee season boasts an even larger prize fund: 2 000 000 rubles!

The contest is organized by the “Tatarstan – New Century” TV and Radio Company, with support from the Commission under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the preservation and development of the Tatar language and native languages of the peoples residing in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The contest aims to promote, develop, and preserve the native language and literary heritage, popularize the works of classics, and cultivate interest in national literature and culture. This event holds significant importance for fostering interest in the native language through artistic expression among compatriots residing in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as in other regions of the Russian Federation and abroad.

Last year, the competition garnered significant interest from Tatars worldwide, attracting 3,000 applications. These submissions were received from diverse locations across Russia, including Bashkortostan, Moscow, Dagestan, Mari El, Astrakhan, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Kirov, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Perm, Penza, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen regions, Khanty-Mansiysk, Udmurt, and Chuvash Republics, as well as from Uzbekistan and Switzerland.

This year, “Tatar Suze” is organized across several categories: participants under 7 years old, 8 to 13, 14 to 17, and 18 and over. Professionals and creative families are also eligible to participate. Performances will be evaluated in three categories: prose, poetry, and a special nomination.

The special nomination “Tugan Tel” (“Mother tongue”) is open to representatives of the Chuvash, Mari, Mordovian, and Udmurt peoples. Participants should deliver expressive readings of works by classical and modern writers or a poem written by the participant in their native language.
