For the fifth time, the Nizhny Novgorod Region is hosting the “Tatar Kyzchygy. Tatar Malay” (“Tatar Girl and Tatar Boy”) contest for children aged 6-8.
The contest is organized by:
- Regional National-Cultural Autonomy of the Tatars of the Nizhny Novgorod Region
- Congress of the Tatars of the Nizhny Novgorod Region
- Inter-District Organization of Tatar Women “Ak Kalpak”
Currently, the selection process is underway in different districts, and preparations are in full swing for the final, which is set to take place on February 21 at the Rural Cultural Center in Tat-Maklakovo. According to tradition, the final is held in the hometown of the previous year’s winner. Last year, Akhmad Fatekhov from Tatarskoye Maklakovo village, Spassky municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, won the contest among boys.
The main goal of this contest is to spark interest among young Tatar children in their historical and cultural heritage. It also aims to help participants gain new knowledge and skills, develop a strong appreciation for family values and traditions, encourage creativity, and connect them to folk traditions that highlight the richness of Tatar culture.
📩 Applications for participation can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected] until February 12 (inclusive).
The contest regulations and application form can be requested by phone at +7 920 253 1910.
