The DUM RT has approved the procedure for celebrating Eid al-Adha and holding the festive prayer (Eid salah) in Tatarstan in 2025.
June 5 has been designated as the Day of Arafah, and June 6 as Eid al-Adha (which is annually celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah). On this day, festive prayers will be held in all mosques across the republic.
In Kazan, the following schedule has been established for the Eid al-Adha celebrations:
-
2:00–3:00 – Recitation of the Holy Qur’an
-
3:00–3:30 – Festive sermon (wagaz)
-
3:30 – Eid prayer (Ghayet-namaz)
-
3:40 – Khutbah, Qur’an recitation, and supplication (du’a)
It is recommended that the Eid prayer in all mosques be held 30 minutes after sunrise.
After the festive prayer, ritual animal sacrifices will begin in specially designated areas. The sacrifice of animals will continue until sunset on June 8. The nisab (minimum wealth threshold) for offering a sacrifice is 53,000 rubles.
June 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are the Days of Takbir al-Tashreeq. During these days (from the Fajr prayer on June 5 until the Asr prayer on June 9, inclusive), believers are to recite Takbir al-Tashreeq after each fard (obligatory) prayer—a total of 23 times:
“Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar! La ilaha illallahu wallahu akbar. Allahu akbar wa lillahil-hamd.”
(“Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest! There is no deity but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.”)
Men recite the takbirs aloud, while women do so quietly.
