On the 16th day of Rabi al-Akhir (October 8), the Islamic course “Yash Kiyäw” (“Young Groom”) began in Kazan, designed to help young men prepare for building a strong and harmonious family in accordance with Sharia principles.
The opening ceremony, dedicated to the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet ﷺ (Hijri calendar), took place at the Marjani Mosque and brought together 50 young participants. The project’s organizers introduced the goals and structure of the course, explaining how to use the workbooks and engage in the course’s dedicated communication channel.
Danis Bagavetdinov, Chief Specialist of the Education Department of the Muslim Religious Board of Tatarstan (DUM RT), led an interactive lecture-workshop, giving participants their first orientation in family preparation and discussing the key qualities of a man ready for marriage.
The eight-week program is aimed at men seeking to build a family according to the laws of Almighty Allah. It provides guidance on courtship in Islam, the marriage contract, and family relationships.
The educational course offers diverse knowledge based on the Qur’an, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the teachings of Islamic scholars and righteous predecessors. Participants will gain authentic knowledge about marriage, learn how to choose a righteous spouse, become a respected and loving head of the family, handle conflicts wisely, and support their families through halal means.
The organizers prepared a rich and well-rounded program that covers all aspects of family life. The course features lectures by qualified ustaz and sheikhs with academic backgrounds, covering topics such as:

Courtship and marriage in Islam;

Rights and responsibilities of spouses;

The marriage contract;

Self-development and men’s health;

The intimate dimension of marital life.
Additionally, participants will explore topics such as:

Adab: The attitude toward women through the example of the righteous;

Family conflicts: The nature and inner world of men and women;

Financial support for one’s wife (nafaqa);

Islamic finance;

Divorce (talaq) in Islam.
The program includes live meetings across different venues in Kazan, video and text lessons, Q&A sessions, motivational films, a sports gathering, a marathon, and group readings of beneficial Islamic books.
