Tatarstan will take part in planning a cycle of federal and international events dedicated to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay in 2036.

The exhibition was prepared by the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Street Art Research Institute, the State Museum of the East, and the Marjani Foundation.

During the event, Tatar melodies and songs set to the poet's verses were performed. Attendees also had the opportunity to view the book exhibition "The Magical World of Tukay".

The winner of the regional stage will represent the Ulyanovsk Region at the final of the International Contest "Tatar Kyzy — 2026" in Turkmenistan.

On the eve of Victory Day, a solemn flower-laying ceremony was held in Nizhnevartovsk at the monument to the Tatar poet and Hero of the Soviet Union, Musa Jalil.

According to the festival program, on May 9, the Almetyevsk Drama Theatre's production "Ezelgen key" directed by Sardar Tagirovski will be shown on the main stage of the National Theatre.

The winner of the contest was Amirkhan Iskhakov, a student from Kazan School No. 27 named after Hadi Takhtash.

The event was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Gabdulla Tukay and was called “In the Footsteps of Tukay”.
