October 29, 2016 an educational campaign to test literacy in the Tatar language Tatarcha dictation to be held. The campaign aims to raise interest in spelling literate, command in literary Tatar, a self-test of spelling and grammatical errors. Everyone can try his hand at writing a dictation in the Tatar language.

“Tatarcha dictation” – an educational campaign designed to draw attention to the issues of literacy and developing a culture of literacy writing in the Tatar language. Today actively is considered a widespread use and expansion of applications of the Tatar language. Those major changes, which lately occur in modern society and in various public spheres in Tatarstan create preconditions for the development and preservation of the state and other languages of Tatarstan. It creates the objective conditions for the expansion of the functioning of the Tatar language, there is growing interest in the

history, culture, customs and traditions of the Tatar people. However, it is still a topical issue a command in the Tatar language.

A voluntary free dictation for all comers will be held simultaneously in Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, as well as in Kazakhstan (Pavlodar) and Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek).

The action starts on October 29, at 11:00am, at the same time, in all regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian cities, as well as in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Participants will write an excerpt from the story of the Tatar writer Eniki “Zhiz kyngyrau”. Dictation on the Tatar language will be checked by philologists, professors and doctors of philological sciences. On each venue of educational action the text of dictation will be read by honored arts and culture, writers and presenters.

In Kazan “Tatarcha dictation” will be held at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication after Leo Tolstoy, Kazan Federal University (Tatarstan, 2, 3 floor, assembly hall). Text dictation will read the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, the actor of G. Kamal TSAT Fanis Ziganshin. To participate, you can register online.

The organizers of the action are the World Forum of Tatar youth with the support of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication after Leo Tolstoy and the Research and Education Center “Institute after Kayum Nasyri”, Kazan Federal University, the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan.
