A historical and ethnographic conference dedicated to the memory of the outstanding musician and famous ethnographer, Doctor of Historical Sciences Yevgeny Busygin (1914 – 2008) was held at the Kazan University.
This year’s conference covered a wide range of ethnological problems: “Russian population of the Volga-Ural region”, “Traditional culture of the peoples of the Volga-Ural region”, “Modern interethnic and interfaith interaction in the Volga-Ural region” and “Ethnographic museology”. The head of the Committee for work with local historians of the World Congress of the Tatars, Professor Albert Burkhanov made three reports in two sections.
The main organizers of the conference were Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, Kazan State Conservatory named after Nazib Zhiganov.
The scientific meeting was held at the Museum of History of Kazan University.
The conference was attended by scientists, teachers, local historians, public figures from Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Kabardino-Balkaria, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities and regions of the Russian Federation.
