A Mosaic of Kazan’s Kul Sharif Mosque Discovered in Hong Kong

A mysterious artist in Hong Kong has created a stunning mosaic depicting Kazan’s iconic Kul Sharif Mosque. The discovery was shared on Telegram by Liliya Galimova, head of the press service for the Rais of Tatarstan.

“The extraordinary is sometimes found where you least expect it… or in this case, thousands of kilometers away. This mosaic was spotted on a street in Hong Kong. Does it look familiar? It seems the artist was so inspired by the beauty of the Kul Sharif Mosque that they wanted to share it with the world,” Galimova wrote.

The Kul Sharif Mosque, located within the Kazan Kremlin, was built between 1996 and 2005.

The mosque was previously proposed as a featured landmark for the new 1,000-ruble banknote representing Tatarstan.
