The musical and poetic contest “Fatirnik” took place in the assembly hall of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Kazan Federal University.
The organizers of “Fatirnik” were the project leader, fourth-year student Artur Faritov, his team, and the deputy director for education and social work of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication — project mentor Regina Yagudina.
The application selection stage was held from November 12 to 27. The selection took place in two categories: musical (performers of their own songs) and poetic (authors of original poems). A total of five winners among the finalists were chosen — two in the musical category and three in the poetic category. The finalists received diplomas and commemorative gifts.
The event opened with a performance by the institute’s folklore, vocal, and instrumental ensemble “Bayram.” The host of the evening was Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilfak Khafizov. Special guests included singer-songwriter, host, and comedian Ramil Zakirov, as well as singer-songwriter, composer, blogger, and firefighter Radik Gazizov.
Throughout the evening, the artists shared interesting facts and stories about their creative journeys. The contest winners presented their songs and poems to the audience, while Ramil Zakirov and Radik Gazizov performed some of their own songs.
The event also featured an “Open Microphone” segment, where anyone from the audience could take the stage and showcase their talent.
The evening concluded with a performance of “Tugan tel” on the piano by Aidar Niyazov, a student of the N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory. The audience stood up and sang along as he played.
