From May 14 to 16, as part of the “Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum 2025,” the Republic of Tatarstan will serve as a platform to showcase Islamic architectural and restoration expertise. At the international real estate exhibition IPM, Tatarstan will present its best mosque restoration projects, highlighting its traditions of hospitality and craftsmanship in preserving cultural heritage. This was reported by the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The exhibits will include unique examples of Muslim shrine restorations, including rare wooden architecture monuments. A particular highlight will be the 18th-century mosque in the village of Maskara, Kukmor District, which will reopen to worshippers in June 2025 following a careful restoration. The project involves strengthening the historical structures, reconstructing the minaret, and restoring the interior design.
Ivan Gushchin, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasized that this is not just a building restoration, but a revival of an important spiritual and cultural center that will become a new point of attraction for the region’s residents.
KazanForum 2025 promises to be the largest in its history, bringing together representatives from more than 100 countries. The IPM exhibition will serve as a platform for dialogue among experts in architecture, restoration, and development.
