The ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Musa Jalil in Yekaterinburg is turning into a good tradition. This year, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Sverdlovsk region, together with the Tatar public organizations of the Sverdlovsk region, organized an event dedicated to the birthday of the great poet.

February 15 marked the 117th anniversary of the birth of the Tatar poet – Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil. The poet immortalized his name with literary creations and military exploits. Neither terrible torture, nor the danger of death could silence the poet, break the unbending character of this man.

The ceremony was attended by a delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of Tatar public and youth organizations of the Sverdlovsk region and residents of Yekaterinburg. The participants honored the memory of the great poet by performing his poems in Tatar and Russian.
