Address by President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation

Dear Tatarstan citizens!
I cordially congratulate you on the national holiday of Russia – Constitution Day!
For a quarter of a century now, has past the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Federation at a national referendum, the Basic Law of our country protects the interests of its citizens.
It is important to note that the Russian Constitution has absorbed the best from the world experience of constitutional construction, played a special role in the normalization of quite vigorous social processes of the end of the last century, thanks to its thoughtfulness and integrity, it is one of the most stable legal acts.
For the regions of Russia, those provisions of the Basic Law of the Russian Federation, which lay the foundations of federalism, determine the status and powers of the subjects of the federation, are especially important.
Tatarstan in the development of its legal system strictly follows the spirit and letter of the main legal document of our country.
Relying on the rights granted by the law, we have achieved great success in economic and cultural development, improvement of social policy, and strengthening of interethnic and interfaith harmony.
As one of the leading regions, the Republic of Tatarstan is distinguished by a high level of social and political stability and development of civil society. Residents of the republic are distinguished by diligence, openness, hospitality, respect for historical and cultural traditions, disinterested desire to come to the aid of all those who are in a difficult life situation.
All this forms a positive image of the republic, making it attractive for work and residence, tourism and investment.
In the republic there is a full understanding of the fact that only together the peoples of Russia can overcome modern difficulties and challenges, achieve success in socio-economic development.
Tatarstan values good neighborly relations with all regions of our vast country, is grateful to our national leader Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for the full support of our initiatives and projects.

The 1993 Constitution has opened a new stage in the consolidation of the statehood of the Russian Federation. It is fundamentally important for each and every one of us to study and be guided by the Basic Law of our great country.
