Restoration of the Syuyumbike Tower is planned to be carried out in Kazan. The results of the survey show that the tower is not in danger, but the project provides for emergency work. The Tatarstan Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites plans to open it to tourists. This was announced at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic by the head of the department Ivan Gushchin.
The restoration of the Syuyumbike Tower is included in the plan for the restoration of architectural objects of the Kazan Kremlin.
“Today, the ensemble of the Kazan Kremlin is the major strategic object. In terms of work, we are going in stages, first we restored the building of the Governmental Offices, the courtyard was improved, the Spasskaya Tower was restored,”- Ivan Gushchin reminded.
A survey of the Syuyumbike Tower has already been carried out with the use of laser technologies. The Chairman of the Tatarstan Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites dispelled doubts that it continues to tilt.
“Periodically, once every six months, news about the Syuyumbike Tower appears in the media. Now it is not correct to say that it is being leaned. There are some weak points, there is an impact of atmospheric factors. Therefore, emergency work is planned,”- Ivan Gushchin explained.
