An event titled “8 Mart Bugen” (“Today is March 8”) was held in Tyumen

On March 9, at the Tatar Culture Center in Tyumen, students from the “Tugan Telem” (Native Language) club, under the guidance of Rafael Galimzyanovich Gadiev and craftswomen from the “Qorama” handicraft club, held a joint event called “8 Mart Bugen,” (“Today is March 8”).

The event was conducted in both Tatar and Russian languages. Songs for beloved mothers and grandmothers were sung, and poems in Tatar were recited. The children played musical instruments. The concert was attended by mothers, fathers, grandmothers, and relatives who came to watch and support their children. The adults also joined in singing with the children.

Our craftswomen also did their best. Since it was a women’s event, the entire exhibition was dedicated to women: calphaks and breast decorations (izyu, lunitsy, various beads), brooches, shoppers, handbags and clutches, wallets, cosmetics, keychains, jewelry boxes, potholders, and much more. The girls tried on the outfits, and they especially liked the calphaks, izyu, and handbags.

After the concert, there was a tea party with traditional pastries, followed by a photo session. Such events help strengthen the bond between generations and serve to preserve the traditions and customs of the community.
