The Kasimov Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve in Ryazan region presented an exhibition of unique items of Tatar life. The exhibition includes items from the private collections of historian Renat Abyanov, philanthropist Ali Brundukov and journalist Marat Safarov.
“We needed to show Kasimov not from a historical point of view. It seemed important to demonstrate family heirlooms, objects that have accompanied people for several generations. For example, the family Koran, shawl and skullcaps of Kasimov Tatars from the Brundukov family survived the siege of Leningrad and now they have returned to their homeland for a while,” Marat Safarov shared.
The exhibition includes a lot of interesting things: a postcard with an invitation to a wedding, dating from 1913; a prayer carpet, which is kept in the collection of Renat Abyanov, etc.. A huge amount of valuable historical materials was provided by the Kasimov Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
