The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan announces an open creative competition for the best draft design of a monument to the People’s Writer of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ayaz Mirsaidovich Gilyazov.
The competition will be held from February 5 to April 5, 2026.
Participants in the competition are professionally practicing sculptors who are citizens of the Russian Federation and reside on its territory.
The goal of the competition is to determine the best draft design of a monument to A.M. Gilyazov (hereinafter referred to as the monument).
The objectives of the competition are:

developing a draft design of the monument;
-
determining the optimal dimensions and estimated cost of creating the monument.
The plot of land for the monument’s placement is located within the entrance area of the state autonomous cultural institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Naberezhnochelninsky State Tatar Drama Theatre named after Ayaz Gilyazov,” located at the address: Naberezhnye Chelny, R.M. Nizametdinova St., 29.
Competition participants must submit their application to participate during the period from February 5 to March 15, 2026, on business days from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00, and on Friday from 9:00 to 16:00 (lunch break from 12:00 to 12:45), in paper form to the responsible secretary of the competition commission at the address: 420015, Kazan, Pushkina St., 66/33, office 114.
Participants must submit their competition entries to the responsible secretary of the Commission no later than March 20, 2026, including:

an explanatory note for the competition entry (the top left corner of the explanatory note must contain the participant’s six-digit numerical code) indicating options for the materials for the monument and pedestal;
-
a cost estimate for the production of the monument, calculated in accordance with the Methodology for determining the cost of creating works of fine art on the territory of the Russian Federation (MDS 81-42.2008);
-
illustrative material, presented on a foam board, including comprehensive landscaping development of the site, to scale, with the monument’s placement, drawings of the monument with pedestal including dimensions, in color, visual representations of the monument’s placement (the illustrative material must bear the participant’s six-digit numerical code in visible places);
-
a maquette and/or model of the monument (height not exceeding 50 cm), which can be made from any material ensuring reliable transportation and display.
The participant awarded first place receives the right to implement the measures for the creation and installation of the monument.
