A gilded buckle, a horse’s bit and stirrups, other finds were found on the banks of Lake Uelgi in the Kunashaksky district of the Chelyabinsk region. Even without carrying out additional analyzes, scientists are sure that the objects belong to the 10th century AD and were abandoned here by the ancient peoples who stopped at a halt.
According to the representatives of YuRGU who directly were engaged in archaeological excavations, the findings once again proved an important historical fact – it was from the present territory of the Southern Urals that such nationalities as Tatars, Bashkirs, Kazakhs and Hungarians began to be created. There is reason to believe that their story began here.
These are not the first ancient finds in the region. Earlier in the Sugomak cave objects of ceramics and ritual accessories were found, which are also not less than a thousand years old. Everyone knows the “land of cities” Arkaim, where staying a lot of people and their homes were located even dozens of millennia ago.
