On July 30, the official opening ceremony of the tenth anniversary session of the Tatar-themed youth camp “Seber Sandygy” — which translates from Tatar as “Siberian Chest” — took place at the “Zeleny Dom” (Green House) tourist base. The event gathered over 40 participants and marked a significant milestone in the field of ethnocultural education and youth development.
The camp is designed to immerse children in the rich cultural heritage of the Tatars of Siberia. Over several days, participants will explore traditions, customs, music, folk games, and crafts, expanding their knowledge and skills in Tatar culture.
From the very first day, the children actively engaged in the program. The opening day included:
-
Team-building games aimed at developing collaboration and communication skills;
-
Creative introductions, where participants showcased their individuality and creativity;
-
Presentation of commemorative gifts from the “Idel” Youth Center, symbolizing the start of their ethnocultural journey.
According to the organizers, the atmosphere of the camp has been filled from the beginning with friendliness, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in cultural roots. This highlights the project’s importance in shaping national identity among youth and strengthening cultural ties within the Tatar community.
The project is supported by the Idel Youth Center and has established itself as an effective tool for cultural education and interethnic dialogue.
