December 26, 2017 at 16.00 hours at  the Tatar State Academic Theater. G. Kamal  the opening of the photo exhibition and awarding the winners of the photo contest “Ethnographic mosaic of the Tatar people” took place. The contest has been  cince 2014 in the framework of the state program “Preservation of the National Identity of the Tatar People (2014-2019)” in the 3 nominations: “Portrait”, “Traditions and Rites” and “Folk and Applied Arts”.

In 2017, 64 photographers from 15 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the photo contest. A total of 405 works were submitted for the competition.

The photo contest is aimed at promoting the traditions and customs of the Tatar people, preserving and developing the national identity of the Tatar people in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond.

In a solemn event, on behalf of the World Congress of Tatars,  the deputy head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Danis Shakirov took part.
