On February 19, the 1st day of the month of Ramadan, the traditional charity marathon “Ramadan – month of good deeds” was launched in Tatarstan. The annual campaign has been announced by the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (DUM RT) in support of seriously ill children, low-income families, and those in need.

Traditionally, it is during this holy month that Muslims of the republic show the greatest activity in charity, as one of the injunctions of Ramadan is almsgiving and donations. The reward for good deeds and demonstrated generosity towards the poor and sick increases many times over during these 29 days and brings a person closer to Almighty Allah.

This year, within the framework of the marathon, the “Zakat” Charity Foundation of DUM RT will again help sick children and needy adults, provide food for low-income families, and organize the centralized collection and distribution of Fitr Sadaqah, Fidyah, and Zakat for the benefit of those in need.
