In Kazan, a meeting took place between Danis Shakirov, Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars and Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Lena Kolesnikova, President of the Directorate of the International Contest “Tatar Kyzy,” Chair of the Congress of the Tatars of the Chelyabinsk Region, and Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region.
The central topic of the meeting was the discussion of the progress of the semifinal of the International Contest “Tatar Kyzy,” which is currently being held in Kazan. The semifinal brings together the best participants from across Russia and abroad — talented, educated, and worthy representatives of the Tatar people. The contestants take part in creative, intellectual, and cultural challenges, demonstrating their knowledge of the native language, traditions, and customs.
Special attention was given to the organizational aspects of the final, which will take place on September 10 in the city of Orenburg. The grand event will be held at the “Gazovik” Palace of Culture and Sports, where guests will enjoy a vibrant festive program featuring the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as performers of folk, classical, and contemporary music.
The winner of the contest will receive a passing crown, a traditional Tatar ornament — the khasita — and the grand prize, a Lada Granta car.
